- While charities refer to their work, Rubio said that no new contracts would be approved by leaving the future of US foreign aid to remain and that
The US government has agreed to allow humanitarian support to save lives again, despite the nation's original order to stop providing foreign aid.
Foreign Minister Marco Rubio issued a statement expressing special exemption, reduced concerns among international support groups who were afraid of funding.
In his order, Rubio explained that the exemption would allow for important humanitarian support, including essential life -saving, medical, food, housing, and basic assistance, as well as the equipment and management costs required to provide such assistance .
However, he emphasized that some programs would remain out of that exemption.
“This exemption will not involve activities related to abortion, contraceptives, non -integrated management costs and 1 (a) above, gender programs or Dei ideology, gender surgery or other non -life -saving support,” Rubio said in his message.
He added that immigration and refugee support (MRA) funds would be reduced to humanitarian assistance and efforts to bring people back home, and prevent the funds from being used for broad immigration policies.
“Immigration and refugee support (MRA) can only be used to support activities under 1 (a) and for the return of third -party citizens to their country of origin or a third safer country,” he added.
How did the support groups miss the Trump administration
The announcement comes after several weeks of frustration following Trump's implementation order to suspend approximately $ 60 billion in foreign aid while conducting an assessment of US support programs.
Many humanitarian groups had already stopped their activities, fearing the reduction of funding altogether.
The recovery of this section now allows some support groups to continue their activities.
“Implementation of existing humanitarian support programs should continue or return to work if they were stopped, according to these instructions,” Rubio explained.
However, they remain concerned about the temporary state of exemption, since Rubio emphasized that “there will be no new contracts to be signed” without further consent.
This time forgiveness leaves many unanswered questions about the future of US foreign aid.
Rubio's memory indicates that more exemptions can be given on a case basis for cases, but support groups must review governmental barriers to obtain approval.
“This recovery is temporary, and except for other exemptions or as required to carry out this exemption, no new contracts will sign,” Said the Secretary of the United States.
