The riot between President William Ruto and his former deputy appears to escalate following the recent allegations of Rigathi Gachagua against the government.
What did Gachagua say about cheap housing?
Speaking at the inauguration of the new headquarters of the DAP-K in Nairobi, Gachagua mentioned the cheap housing project of Ruto Be a serious fraud against Kenyan citizens.
He added that when he was Deputy President, the president of the time asked him to go to the media to defend the project, but he refused after discovering it had nothing to do with the construction of housing.

He said he changed his view of the program when he realized that it was a commercial project that allegedly benefited some government officials and companies selling building materials.
“If the Secretary of Housing wants to build a cheap housing, he must enter into a small agreement with the company that sells cement, steel, and tin. Built so that they can continue to sell cement, metal, and galvanized, “ Gachagua claimed.
Gachagua claimed not to support the housing program was one of the reasons why the President accused him of not understanding important government projects and for not paying attention to his responsibilities.

On the same occasion, Gachagua attacked Ruto after the president publicly criticizing him for his shortcomings during his development visit in western Kenya, blaming him for failing to understand important government projects.
