‘That will continue to be our philosophy’- Paul Francis unveils MVP Track Club’s winning formula with Kishane Thompson

Paul Francis has revealed what majorly contributes to the success of MVP Track Club stars like Kishane Thompson and Shericka Jackson.

MVP Track Club coach Paul Francis has shared the secret to success for his athletes including Kishane Thompson, Tia Clayton and Shericka Jackson.

For the longest time, the MVP Track Club has produced some of the greatest sprinters in history and has continued to showcase the ability to coach athletes to achieve greater milestones.

Double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce have also passed through the MVP Track Club and as things stand, they are some of the greatest sprinters to have ever walked this earth.

Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will head to the United States to promote her latest venture as she begins to prepare for life beyond track.

Paul Francis explained that they work as a unit to ensure that their athletes are ready for global championships and this season, the main focus will be on the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan later this year.

“We just try to get our athletes to be the best they can be at the time they need to be at their best. That will continue to be our philosophy,” he said as quoted by Jamaica Observer.

He was also unfazed about Shericka Jackson’s second-place finish in the 60m at the Queen’s/Grace Jackson Invitational Meet at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

Francis revealed that execution is one of the main things they will be out to work on but so far, things are looking up for the two-time world 200m champion.

“These meets are training meets. She ran faster at this stage than she has ever run before, so it’s a very good look and that’s all I can say from my perspective,” he shared.

“She’s training well and if there wasn’t some amount of recovery done, she wouldn’t have come on the track, so the fact she’s racing is self-explanatory.”

'The 100m matters most'- Kishane Thompson brushes off indoor win in Astana

Despite winning his indoor debut at the Astana Indoor Meet, Kishane Thompson emphasised that his focus remains on the 100m, which he believes matters the most.

Shericka Jackson suffered an injury setback at last year’s Gyulai István Memorial, a Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix, that forced her to finish eighth in the 200m.

She was forced to miss the Paris Olympic Games where she had intentions of winning her first-ever individual title and now, she has already kickstarted her 2025 with the main hope of making up for all the events she missed.

At the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, she won the silver medal in the 100m and gold in the 200m.
