In a past episode of Engage Talk, Kipyegon spoke candidly about the natural progression for middle-distance runners as they age.

“When the age comes, you have to move from one distance to another, especially with sprints. You can’t stay in the 1500m forever,” she explained.

“You have to introduce your legs to new challenges—moving from 1500m to 5000m and eventually to the marathon. Maybe you will see me in the marathon in the future,” she added with a teasing smile.
