The National Industrial Training Board inaugurates the 3rd Sector Training Committees – Kenya News Agency

The National Industrial Training Board (NITB) has held its 3rd inauguration ceremony for the new members of the Board’s Sector Training Committees (STCs) which brought together key stakeholders in the agenda to foster collaboration and advance skills development through sector leadership.

The Principal Secretary (PS) for Labour and Skills Development Shadrack Mwadime urged all stakeholders to continually work together towards making the goals of the nation a success as he re-assured the Sector Training Committees of the government’s unwavering support.

In a speech read on his behalf by the Secretary Administrator in the State Department of Labour and Skills Development Herman Shambi, Mwadime congratulated the 12 STCs for their outstanding roles in their new posts after inauguration.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the National Industrial Training Board (NITB) Aden Noor Ali described their routine as that of shared commitment, fostering skills, with an inclusive and globally competitive workforce.

The Chairman echoed that the establishment of this routine is as a result of collective commitment in bridging the gap between demand of industry and working skills.

“I feel that we need to train our people so that they can work for themselves,” noted Ali as he congratulated the STC’s on their new positions.

In her remarks, NITB Director General (DG) Theresa Wasike disclosed that the 3rd cycle of the Inauguration 2024-2027 restructured to 12 STC’s as compared to the 1st and 2nd cycle of 2016 and 2020 respectively which was initially structured at 9 STC’s.

“This is intended to make the sector more responsive to the needs of the industry and to arrive at the government’s Bottom-up Economic Transformational Agenda,” she remarked.
