When will Martha Karua launch a new political party?
Karua said the party, named People's Liberation Party (PLP), would be launched in February.
He revealed it on Saturday, January 25, when he welcomed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his aides at their home in Kirinyaga.
Karua said the plan to establish the new party started in May 2024 at the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) and is now approaching the final stages.
“I have been a NARC leader in Kenya, but we have changed the brand. We will launch our new brand next month. The name is People's Liberation Party (PLP). The procession of Gen Z. The process is completed, ” He revealed.
He said the party would be ready to cooperate with others who have invested in opposition to the President William Ruto out of office.
Karua sent a request for Gachagua's closer, demanding that he join him, even if he had a separate party, to form a terrible side that would remove Ruto.
“I have heard my brother (Gachagua) and he is about to launch his own, but I invite you all, the plp is a big house, if you are ready to walk, we invite you to start another party, but leave us. walk together, ” He said.
Previously, Gachagua and Karua had not seen each other on the political eyes, their ideological differences reaching the peak of public attacks.
The former deputy president often ridiculed Karua not being able to explain the issues during their debate towards the 2022 general election.
At the time, Karua was running for the second presidency after ODM leader Raila Odinga and Gachagua behind William Ruto.
