Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has embraced aging as a blessing, reflecting on the confidence, growth, and lessons she’s gained over the years.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has once again opened up about her age, noting that it is something that never bothers her, and in fact, she loves the way she is ageing.
Now 38, Shelly-Ann disclosed that she has learnt a lot from the past years and the one thing that comes with ageing is that there are new experiences.
The 10-time world champion further explained that she has grown to gain a lot of confidence throughout the years and looking back at when she was young, she is glad to have gone through all the phases.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce remains focused on fulfilling her dream of running faster times before retiring, despite speculation that the Paris Olympics might be her final appearance.
She revealed that many people are always afraid to get older but she has expressed gratitude to be 38 and still able to do most of the things.
“I’m not afraid to age, you know, age is a blessing and you embrace it because you learn new things, you see yourself in a different light and I’m able to be more confident in who I am and confident in my age,” Shelly-Ann said in an interview
“I know a lot of persons who say they don’t want to age but I have no problem with aging, it’s part of life because I get new lessons, new moments to live and to embrace.”
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce further revealed that being a mother has also changed her a lot but it has all been for the good.
She explained that age should not stop any athlete or human being from pursuing their goals and they should always be keen to pursue everything they want. She is a great example to show that everything is possible.
“I’m grateful that I’m able to have all of that in one and have my son and know that a lot of people keep talking about age but it won’t stop anything. Keep believing and working hard and if you want to go back to school or a new job, keep working,” she revealed.
The three-time world champion insists that Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce still have plenty more to offer the world.
At the age of 38, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce still wants to keep going and she remains one of the greatest sprinters of all time.
The three-time Olympic champion is also loved by many who are always rallying behind her and cheering her on despite the few setbacks she has encountered in her career.
