Is 2025 the year Ferdinand Omanyala’s partner fully pursues her career

Laventa Amutavi, Ferdinand Omanyala’s partner, will be looking to fully pursue her athletic career in 2025.

Laventa Amutavi was born on February 23, 1996, in Kaimosi, Vihiga County, Kenya, and has long been recognized as the supportive partner of Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala.

Beyond her role as a partner and mother, Amutavi is also an accomplished athlete in her own right and specialises in the sprints and the long jump.

With the 2025 outdoor season fast approaching, many fans are eager to know whether Amutavi will fully dedicate herself to her track and field career.

Ferdinand Omanyala has credited one key factor that revitalised his training and enabled him deliver a strong 2024 season, setting sights on the 2025 World Championships.

Her athletics journey began during her youth and that’s how she also met the love of her life, Ferdinand Omanyala. Their shared love for the sport became a foundational aspect of their relationship.

Over the years, she has balanced multiple roles of being a partner, mother, and athlete and in 2017, she represented Kenya at the World University Games, marking her first international competition. Shortly after, she discovered she was pregnant, leading her to temporarily pause her athletic pursuits.

In a past interview, while speaking exclusively with Pulse Sports, Amutavi opened up about some of the sacrifices she had to make after discovering she was expectant.

During the time she was not competing, Amutavi was very supportive of her partner Ferdinand Omanyala. As an upcoming athlete, Omanyala could not provide for the family and she had to step in and ensure most of the things were sorted.

“When I became pregnant, I had to put my career on hold. It was difficult, but I believed in Ferdinand and his potential. I knew that if I supported him, it would eventually pave the way for both of us,” she said.

In an interview with Standard Media, Laventa Amutavi said: “There were moments we struggled financially, but I never gave up. Ferdinand had big dreams, and I wanted to help him achieve them. Even when things got tough, I stayed positive.”
