The family of a 19-year-old woman whose husband is suspected of killing and dismembering her body have broken their painful silence a day after the horrific discovery.

The remains of 19-year-old Joy Fridah were found in her husband's bag by police officers who were on patrol in a case that has shocked Kenyans.

Speaking to Citizen TV, the family of the murdered woman bitterly demanded justice saying their daughter died a tragic and shocking death.

“This is a cruel act, I, the parent, am very sick because even his other parts have not been found yet,” the deceased's father said.

The family said that the two started dating when they were young and moved in together as husband and wife after moving to Nairobi.

This happened after the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) released photos of the suspect with the horrific bag on Wednesday, January 22 and explained that the case is being investigated.

Detectives revealed that some parts are still unaccounted for, sparking a wider search and further forensic investigations.

The recovered remains were transferred to the City Mortuary for a post-mortem examination as authorities work to determine the cause of the heinous act.

John Kiama Wambua seems to have no worries in court

The suspect appeared in court on Wednesday to face charges of murder, and his unruly behavior left many Kenyans confused.

In the video that was circulated, John Kiama Wambua seemed unconcerned and was seen struggling with some papers when he was in court, where he said he did not have a lawyer.

In the video, while in court, he repeatedly rubs a white paper with his hands tied to his nose and mouth.

Court reporter Zipporah Weru, who shared the video, revealed that Wambua confessed to the murder, saying he allegedly did so due to suspicions of dishonesty.

The suspect's family is speaking

As TUKO.co.ke reported, the family of the 29-year-old killer also opened up about the type of person he was.

Relatives and close friends of Wambua explained that they do not understand how the young man was involved in the death of his beloved wife.

His close friend Stephen Kisanga also revealed that he had never seen him harm anyone and he was confused as to how he did the brutality.

“He has always been a good man; We do not understand what could have happened to him or he entered one of these cults. I can't say because for days and years I have interacted with him, I have never seen or heard that he fought or hit someone,” a family member said.
