John Kiama: Man Trapped with His 19-year-old Wife's Body Brought to Court

Does John Kiama have a lawyer?

On Wednesday, January 22, John Kiama Wambua was brought before the Milimani Court on suspicion of murdering his 19-year-old wife, Joy Fridah Munani.

Detectives from the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) asked the court to grant permission to detain the suspect for more days.

DCIin their request, said they needed 21 more days to continue a thorough investigation into the horrific crime the suspect is accused of committing.

However, the case has not yet started because the suspect did not have a legal representative when he was brought to court.

After being brought to court, Kiama was asked if he had a lawyer, but he denied it.

When was John Kiama Wambua arrested?

Kiama was arrested after being found with human body parts that were still raw on Tuesday, January 21.

During the last patrol of the morning near Kelly Towers, Huruma, at five in the morning, the Huruma patrol police team stopped a suspect who was carrying a heavy bag in a suspicious manner.

The DCI said the police initially thought the suspect was carrying illegal goods, but when they searched, they found schopped up human body parts.

“Because of the belief that Wambua was sending something illegal, the officers conducted a search, and to their surprise they discovered parts of the human body that had been chopped up. In a quick interview, the suspect claimed that the parts belonged to his wife Joy Fridah Munani, 19,” DCI said.

Where is the body of Wambua's wife?

Despite the exposure of the shocking events, Wambua remained calm and led the officers to his living room, where other body parts were hidden under the bed.

Inside his room, investigators found a kitchen knife suspected to be the weapon used in the murder, as well as the deceased's clothes covered in blood.

Investigators said some body parts have yet to be found, prompting a wide-ranging search and further laboratory tests.

Investigators at the scene conducted a thorough investigation as authorities stepped up efforts to understand the motive behind the horrific murder.

Wambua, who is now facing charges of murder, will be brought to court while DCI Starehe continues to investigate the horrific crime.

The remains found were taken to the City Mortuary for an autopsy while the authorities continue to determine the cause of the brutal act.
