Sonko criticized Obinna and Kimani's father

The return to rehab comes after Sonko publicly slammed Obinna and Kimani's father for engaging in public accusations, which he claimed were detrimental to Kimani's recovery.

Sonko, who was instrumental in Kimani's earlier recovery, facilitating her transfer from Mathari to Mombasa Women's Hospital in 2024 and clearing her bills, expressed dismay at the way the situation was handled.

Sonko assured the public that he would continue to support Kimani's recovery, promising to contact Obinna and Kimani's father to prevent further public discussion of his condition.

He also pledged to personally oversee Kimani's care to ensure his mental health needs are met.
