Activist Raymond Otieno's Wife Remembers His Last Words Before He Was Killed

When was Richard Raymond Otieno attacked?

Raymond, a famous human rights activist, died after being attacked outside his home on Saturday, January 18, by unknown people.

Speaking to Citizen TV, Margaret Mwihaki, who is now mourning the death of her husband, recounted the tragic events of Saturday night, when the activist was killed.

While crying, Mwihaki remembered how her husband called her asking for the gate to be opened as he was on his way back home after watching a football match.

However, when Mwihaki arrived at the gate, she found it already open, so she decided to go back inside the house to wait for her beloved husband.

A few minutes after he got to his room, he heard screams from outside; When Mwihaki and the neighbors came out, they found Raymond lying in a pool of blood.

“He called me and said, 'Mom, I want to come, open the gate.' I went to open the gate, but I found it already open, so I went back in. When I got to the room, I heard someone screaming, and when we got there, we found Richard lying on the ground with serious injuries on his head.” Mwihaki told.

For luck Unfortunately, the famous human rights activist died from his injuries and was pronounced dead when he was brought to the hospital.

The widow also revealed that Raymond had expressed his fear of being followed by three people on Thursday, January 16, and recalled the attack last November by people he believed were linked to a local politician.

“On Thursday, he came home and told me, 'On my way home, I saw three people near the gate, behind me, and they seemed to have bad intentions.' He said, 'From now on, it's not good,'” Mwihaki told.
