Turkana Governor signs Finance Bill into law – Kenya News Agency

Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai has signed the Turkana County Finance Bill and the Turkana County Biashara Fund Bill into law.

The Finance Act allows the County Government of Turkana to set or adjust fees, charges, licenses, permits, rents, and rates for services it provides.

The Biashara Fund Act establishes the Biashara Fund, which offers affordable and competitive credit to traders in Turkana.

The fund also supports business growth and promotes self-reliance among micro-entrepreneurs.

Those who witnessed the signing were the Leader of the Majority, Stephen Edukon (Turkwel); the Minority Whip, Vincent Ekipor (Lokichoggio); the Chairman of the Budget and Appropriation Committee, Patrick Napion (Kaeris); and the Chairman of the Finance, Planning, Trade, and ICT Committee, Michael Ewoi (Lapur).

Governor Lomorukai acknowledged the County Assembly for fast-tracking the bills and supporting the County Executive’s development agenda for Turkana residents.
