Speaking at a mass to pray for his first cousin, the late Kibathi Muigai, in Ngong on Friday, January 17, Uhuru urged General Z not to be afraid to stop their fight for their rights.

“Fight for your rights, sir. Don't just go down and watch your property being taken away and you worked hard to get it. Don't let it. Fight for your rights,” Uhuru said.

He also told the youth that they should not mourn if they lose what they have worked hard for without a fight.

The former president pledged his support to the youth, affirming his support in their fight for better leadership.

Uhuru Kenyatta's allies are sworn in as Ministers

The former president's statement came a few hours after his allies William Kabogo, Lee Kinyanjui, and Mutahi Kagwe were sworn in as Cabinet secretaries.

After being sworn in, Kagwe will replace Andrew Karanja as Minister of Agriculture, Kinyanjui will replace Salim Mvurya as Minister of Trade, and Kabogo will replace Margaret Nyambura Ndung'u as Minister of Information, Communications and Digital Technology.

President William Ruto presided over the swearing-in ceremony at the State House in Nairobi on Friday, January 17.

Did Uhuru welcome Ruto to his house in Ichaweri?

The appointment of Uhuru's allies as Ministers in Ruto's Cabinet came after he welcomed his successor, Ruto, to his home in Ichaweri, Kiambu County.

In a statement on Monday, December 9, 2024, Uhuru's head of communication, Kanze Denasaid Ruto visited the former president.

The statement said President Ruto thanked Uhuru for overseeing the peaceful transfer of power following the highly contested 2022 presidential election.

Ruto and Uhuru also discussed the reorganization of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

The two asked the parties who are awaiting a court case regarding the selection panel IEBC find a way to solve their problems quickly.

The two leaders also asked Kenyans to support Raila Odinga's ambition to run for the position of chairman of the African Union Commission (AUC).
