Why were residents protesting on Thika Road
On Wednesday, January 15, the body of an unidentified man was seen floating under a bridge near Ruiru on Thika Road, opposite Astro Petrol Station.
In a video seen by TUKO.co.ke, a man was seen drowning in the river while hundreds of residents were standing by.
Residents were surprised after the diver caught the body and discovered that it belonged to a man wearing a red sweater, and his hands were tied together.

Kenyans blocked Thika Road in Ruiru area for protest.
In the video, angry residents were claiming that the man might have been kidnapped somewhere else, killed, and his body thrown into the river.
Police arrived at the scene to calm the situation before removing the body for further identification.
When did John Muchiri Muthoni disappear?
Elsewhere, the family of the late John Muchiri Muthoni went into mourning after his body was found dumped on the side of the road in Kawaida area, on the way to Banana.
Muchiri's death was revealed when his girlfriend received a call from an unknown number, informing him where her body was.
According to information seen by TUKO.co.ke, human rights activist Hussein Khalid confirmed that Muchiri disappeared on Friday, January 3, causing panic among his people.
Videos circulated online showed Muchiri's body dumped on the side of the road, with his clothes dumped a short distance away.
The body of the deceased was taken to the mortuary of the Kihara Small Hospital for safekeeping pending an autopsy.
