Nairobi – Inspector Guyo Dida, a senior police officer, was arrested on Tuesday, January 14, after he was caught conducting illegal traffic operations outside his duty station.

The incident, which happened at the busy Globe Cinema Roundabout in Nairobi, was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media.

According to a police report seen by TUKO.co.ke, the incident started when Najma Ali Magongo, the complainant, was stopped by Dida while she was driving her Toyota Axio.

Dida allegedly forced her into the car and ordered her to drive towards the police station.

While they were on the way, Dida reportedly demanded a bribe of KSh 15,000 to release Magongo. A person who was passing by luck he reported to Inspector Ambrose Kivuva, the officer on duty at the Central Police Station.

“The police officer forced him into his car through the passenger door and ordered him to drive to the police station. On the way, the officer demanded KSh 15,000 to release him,” the report said.

After being detained, Dida, who was later identified as the Deputy Head of Station (OCS) of Mavindini Police Station in Makueni County, resisted arrest.

What followed was a heated argument as Dida accused Inspector Kivuva of interfering with his work.

A video of the thrilling incident has since surfaced online, showing Dida trying to free herself from the grip of a police officer who was holding her uniform.

The clip shows Dida shouting and fighting as a crowd gathers in the area. Many cars are heard honking as the traffic increases.
