According to Omole, in the early hours of Saturday, January 11, 2025, his Syokimau home was invaded by eight armed men, who he suspects were sent to kidnap him.

“I heard the first commotion around 3 in the morning, but I didn't worry too much. In less than 10 minutes, I heard Yvonne (her relative) shouting. At that time, I pulled out my gun that was near me,” Omole said. .

He adds that the unknown assailants grabbed Yvonne, and dragged her to her room. It was at this time that he opened fire to save his life.

“They had this police battle. The only thing that was different was that they were all wearing red masks. One person was holding a flashlight to blindfold me,” he added.

Omole says he fired three shots, with two hitting the roof and one hitting one of the men. The attackers broke a nearby window and ran away from the gunfire.

The political activist has reported the matter at the Mlolongo Police Station, saying that his attack may have been due to his strong stance on good governance in the country.

“I have received threatening phone calls telling me to stop my movement. I have also had many warnings even on WhatsApp groups.” Omole said.

Machakos Police Commander Patrick Lobolia confirmed the incident, saying police are investigating it as a case of attempted robbery.

Lobolia added that two spent cartridges were recovered from the crime scene.
