New details have emerged that have shed light on Lydia Tokesi's troubled relationship with her longtime boyfriend, Phillip Orwa.
The dismembered body of a 29-year-old woman, a graduate of Moi University, was found in Gataka forest, Ongata Rongaiand ended a week's search.
How long did Tokesi and Orwa date?
Orwa, who was last seen with the deceased on January 4, is now the prime suspect in her murder.
Family members and close friends revealed that Tokesi was facing major challenges in his eight-year relationship with Orwa, with recent signs of tension and mistrust.
According to a source close to the family, Tokesi told his friends that he was feeling unsatisfied in the relationship but had not taken a serious step to leave.
“He felt stuck but he was trying to work things out,” said a source close to the source.

As authorities continue to hunt for Orwa, detectives are delving into the couple's past, including reported incidents of heated arguments and emotional distress.
His sudden disappearance, followed by the discovery of his mutilated body, has sparked public outrage and calls for swift justice.
The police confirmed that the car used by Tokesi last time was found safe in Rongai, thus eliminating the possibility of kidnapping as the cause of the murder.
His colleagues at Kasha Technologies, where he worked as a customer service officer, described him as a smart and ambitious person.

The family, which is heartbroken by the brutal murder, is calling on anyone with information about Orwa's whereabouts to cooperate with the security agencies.
