He expressed concern about the direction of the current administration's rhetoric, warning that it may lead to international legal challenges.

Gachagua will mention threats to evict the residents of Lamu

Gachagua also spoke about a special incident involving a leader who is loyal to the president, who is alleged to have threatened to evict non-local residents from Lamu County.

He emphasized that the constitution of Kenya gives every citizen the right to live anywhere in the country, and he condemned any threats to relocate people based on their origin.

“Every citizen has the right, according to our constitution, to live anywhere within the Republic of Kenya. Lamu County is part of Kenya, and no one should fear that they can move them from anywhere,” Gachagua said.

Gachagua disclosed that a team has been created to monitor any human rights violations that may occur and ensure that the International Criminal Court (ICC) is informed of any plans that may cause evil, especially in Lamu County.

“We want our team dealing with ICC issues to record properly, so that we can keep ICC informed about what is planned in Lamu county,” he added.

Gachagua's remarks were fueled by recent provocative statements from people close to President Ruto, particularly Dadaab Member of Parliament Farah Maalim.

Maalim has been heavily criticized for his derogatory remarks against Kenyans who oppose President Ruto.

During a political rally in Kesses, Maalim referred to Ruto's critics as “fools” and used abusive language, which many saw as hateful and divisive remarks.

The National Coherence and Integration Commission (NCIC) had earlier summoned Maalim for such inflammatory remarks.
