In a notice seen by TUKO.co.ke, the Public Service Commission (PSC) listed 109 Kenyans ready for interviews.

Interview dates, however, were not immediately shared.

“Nominated candidates will be interviewed at the Public Service Commission, off Harambee Avenue Nairobi. The interview schedule showing the date and time will be published on the commission's website,” said the statement in part.

Who are the other Kenyans shortlisted by PSC for PS jobs?

Apart from Oguda, other prominent people who made it to the short list include former Nairobi governor Anne Kananu, Director General of Health Patrick Amoth, former secretary general of the Union of Medical Doctors and Dentists (KMPDU) Ouma Oluga, Secretary General former Administration David Michael. Otieno Osiany, and former secretary general of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Wilson Sossion.

The PSC revealed that 2,517 applicants have expressed interest in PS jobs, and only 109 have made it past the application stage.

Before the interviews, the PSC invited the public to share reliable information of interest related to the nominated candidates.

Comments can be submitted as affidavits before 24 January 2025.

When were the jobs of General Secretaries announced?

The PSC published an advertisement in November 2024, inviting Kenyans who are interested in the position and possess the required qualifications to apply.

According to the announcement, the position arose following what the PSC said was a reassignment in the senior ranks of the senior officer.

The announcement came a few hours after the current PSs signed performance contracts at the White House.

What are the qualifications of a person to be the secretary general?

Applicants had until December 4, 2024, to apply for the positions.

According to the commission, the candidate must have a degree from a university recognized by the Commission for University Education (CUE) and at least 10 years of experience, five of which must have held senior management positions either within the private or public sector. . services.

Interested candidates were also required to have appropriate knowledge and understanding of the organization, functions, and policies of government and should be able to demonstrate how they would transfer the same to their positions within government.
