Carlos Vela is among the names of famous people who lost property worth millions of dollars due to the fire that occurred in Los Angeles.
The raging fire has burned nearly 20,000 acres and destroyed at least 5,000 structures in the metropolis.

What started the Los Angeles Fire?
According to Daily Mail, the fire started at luck bad in the back garden on Tuesday morning before quickly spreading due to overgrown vegetation, dry conditions and strong winds moving around.
“It's safe to say the Palisades fire was one of the most destructive natural disasters in Los Angeles history,” said Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, as quoted by Sky News.
Carlos Vela loses property
Vela, who plays for Los Angeles FC in the Major League Soccer, has lost his £3.3 million (Ksh 525m) home in Malibu.
His wife, Saioa Cañibano, revealed the news on Instagram but he confirmed that everyone was safe from the incident.
“Our beautiful home in Malibu burned down yesterday, we are still in shock about everything that is happening, it is so sad and scary to see how everything is burning. With all the concerned messages you are sending us we are safe. We are sending a lot of love to all affected, and we hope that the fire you'll be off soon.”
Who is Carlos Vela?
Vela and Cañibano have an eight-year-old son, Romeo, and a four-year-old daughter, India. He came through the youth academy Arsenal after several years in Guadalajara.
He had several loan spells at Arsenal, and made just 29 appearances for Arsene Wenger during his seven years in North London.
What titles does Carlos Vela have?
His most successful level was at his current club, Los Angeles, where he won the MLS Cup in 2022. He was also named MVP of the league in 2019. He is currently a free agent.

According to Mirror US, the five-bedroom Malibu home featured a luxury kitchen with a breakfast bar and center island. The mansion is believed to sit on an area of 6,500 square feet.

CNN reports that at least 10 people have lost their lives, but the exact number will be known later once investigators collect the reports.
What other celebrities have lost their wealth?
In a separate report, Paris Hilton also lost her Malibu beach house after the wildfires. Singer Fergie also lost her home in the fire.
Ben Affleck, who recently finalized his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, was also forced to leave his home.
