Migori – One person has been confirmed dead, and several people injured following an accident involving the Tahmeed Bus Company.
Where did Tahmeed's bus have an accident?
TUKO.co.ke has learned that the bus overturned at Nyanchabo station on Thursday, January 9, with several passengers inside, heading from Kehancha to Migori town.
One employee of Tahmeed Bus Company was the only one who died in the accident, while other passengers who suffered minor injuries were rushed to different hospitals in Migori.
According to Kevin Chacha, a witness to the incident, the bus overturned after leaving the road a little and plunged into a ditch.
“I was on my way to the station to buy goods, then I realized that the bus was coming towards me, but it was not stable. Before I could see clearly what was going on, I heard a big explosion, the bus had left the road and was on the ground,” Kevin told TUKO.co.ke.
Another witness, Veron Ghati, said the emergency sounds from the passengers inside the bus attracted the attention of people nearby, who rushed to help the injured.
“I was at the station when I heard emergency sounds. Passengers were crying for help, and we came out to help. We only saw one middle-aged man being taken out dead, but others were injured and rushed to the hospital,” Ghati said.
The police have started an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
