Bungoma – The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has withheld the 2024 Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results from Lugulu Girls High School, raising concerns.

The management of the school has assured the students and parents that the issue is being addressed, while asking them to be patient while the institution follows the formal appeal process with KNEC.

In a letter signed by the principal of the school, Dinah Cheruiyot, parents and guardians were informed about the situation and assured of ongoing efforts to resolve the problem.

“Dear Parent/Guardian, We are aware that your son has not yet received his test results. Please be assured that this matter is being addressed and the results will be available to you in a timely manner. Further communications will follow. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” read part of the letter.

The announcement has surprised members of the Lugulu Girls community, a school that has a history of great academic success.

What does delayed results mean?

The delay in the results has left many students and their families worried, anxiously waiting for new information.

The Director of Education for the Western Region, Jared Obiero, confirmed the delay in the results, adding that there was no cause for alarm.

He explained that when results are delayed, they often go through a review process to address potential discrepancies, missing information, or errors before being approved or released.

“The results were suspended, and we are working on the matter. People should not panic. The results will be released soon. This happens for various reasons, including missing information or mistakes. We call for patience while we work on this case,” he said as reported by the Nation.
