William Ruto Says The 2024 KCSE Results Are Proof Of Progress In The Education System

What did Ruto say about KCSE results?

Speaking in Uasin Gishu County, President Ruto said that the KCSE results show great improvements in the education sector in the country.

He also noted progress in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, which were not doing well in previous years.

“Today is the day that the results of the KCSE exam have been released. In the results, it has been seen that there is progress in matters related to education in the country. There are improvements in the overall results of the exam,” Ruto said.

The President also emphasized the increase in the number of female candidates in the KCSE 2024 exam compared to the previous year.

He said that improvements in the education sector are the result of the government's efforts Kenya First hiring new teachers.

“Until now, we have hired about 76,000 teachers in the country. No other government in the country has ever hired 76,000 teachers in two years. Tell us the truth,” Ruto said.

How did the candidates fare in the KCSE 2024 exam?

Of the 962,512 candidates who took the KCSE 2024 exam, 1,693 got straight A grades, while 246,391 got straight A grades.

In addition, 7,743 candidates got A-, 19,150 got B+, 43,120 got B, 75,347 got B-, and 99,338 got C+.

The Minister of Education Julius Ogamba noted that 712,537 candidates did not succeed in reaching the marks to enter the university.

Ogamba added that out of the 962,512 candidates who took the KCSE 2024 exam, 48,333 scored E.
