KCSE Results: 1, 683 Candidates Get Equal Marks, Minister Julius Ogamba Announces

A total of 965, 501 candidates took the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2024 examination.

Of those who performed well, 1,683 candidates scored straight as, while 246,391 scored straight marks for university entrance.

Nairobi – The Minister of Education Julius Migos Ogamba has officially released the results of the Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2024 examination.

The Minister of Education announced the results at the New Examination House, South C, Nairobi, on Thursday, January 9.

In his speech, CS Ogamba revealed that 962, 512 candidates took the 2024 KCSE examination, an increase of 6.89% compared to 2023.

Today we are releasing the 2024 KCSE results to 962,512 candidates, all of whom we have approved to join various institutions of higher learning to pursue the professions of their choice,” Ogamba said.

The results announced by CS Ogamba show that 1,216 out of 965 501 candidates got an average grade of A.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education denied claims of changes in university entry requirements for KCSE 2024 candidates.

The controversial article claimed that the government of Kenya First planned to increase the university entrance grade from C+ to B-.

The article caused great concern among the public after it was claimed that Minister Ogamba announced the change during a press conference.

However, on Monday, December 23, the Minister of Education dismissed the reports, calling them false and misleading.

The Minister of Education asked parents and students to ignore information that has not been communicated through the ministry's official channels.
