- Some Kenyans wondered why his grandmother was still using the traditional kitchen, and the figure did not answer them.
Vera Sidika has responded to a netizen who attacked him for not staying with the view of his grandmother's kitchen in Kakamega county.
Why did Vera Sidika's grandmother's kitchen go viral on the internet?
The world-renowned socialite, whose third name is Mung'asia, took a break from the pilka pilkas of the city to enjoy some time in the countryside.
Vera embraced her nickname, Shikwekwe, when she posted a photo of herself cooking in the kitchen using a stone stove three.
In another photo, he was seen with a water hose on his head coming out of the river to fetch water.
Vera was seen stirring food in a pot while the stove, known as meko, was emitting smoke. Piles of extra firewood were visible on the side. Smoke darkened parts of the wall.
The mother of two admitted that she enjoys rural life.
“Life in the village is sweet. Call me Shi Shi, village baddie. This is a real country kitchen that uses wood. It's a lot of fun,” he wrote.
One netizen advised Vera to build a modern kitchen for her grandmother.
“You can't even build a decent kitchen for your grandmother, really? He doesn't even have a gas stove,” he wrote.
Vera said her grandmother has a modern kitchen, but she chose to shoot in a traditional kitchen.
“He has all that. But why should I take a picture of a gas and electric stove and that's what I do every day in Nairobi?
“I want to feel the real village life. It is not a city life in a village. Ouch,” he replied.
This is what other Kenyans said:
Squirrel:
“The smoke itself brings tears to your eyes.”
benard.ngala:
“Life in the village is really sweet.”
Dommiekoross:
“You can give up two trips to Dubai and build a modern kitchen for your wife.”
