The Police Deny Being Involved or Releasing 4 Kidnapped Youths

The National Police Service (NPS) has strongly denied involvement in the abduction and release of four government critics, who were allegedly taken by police officers.

The activists—Billy Mwangi, Peter Muteti, Bernard Kavuli, and Rony Kiplangat—were recently reunited with their families after disappearing a few days before Christmas.

Why do the police want to meet the kidnappers, their families

In a statement issued on Monday, January 6, the NPS assured the public that its officers will contact the persons reported missing at various police stations, including Embu, Kabete and Thogoto. The aim is to help the ongoing investigation into their disappearance.

“We would like to assure the public that our officers will be reaching out to them and their families and providing them with all the necessary assistance as we seek more information to assist the ongoing investigation,” read the statement in part.

The statement follows the disclosure that Kavuli, who was reported missing at Ngong' Police Station, presented himself at Moi's Bridge Police Station to provide more information to investigators.

The video captured when Kavuli reported to the station, accompanied by his family with security guards.

The NPS has also appealed to the public to assist in tracing the whereabouts of the missing persons and ensure a thorough investigation.

“All information is important and can be reported to the nearest police station or our free lines 999, 911, or 112,” the police said.

The police service reiterated its commitment to address these issues and bring them to their logical conclusion.

Cartoonist Kibet Bull is still missing

At the same time, Kibet Bull, a cartoonist associated with images that spread rapidly on the Internet with the President's image William Ruto His whereabouts are still unknown.

But later he was released from the hands of his captors.
