What Ruto said to his critics

Speaking during the funeral of Speaker Moses Wetang'ula's mother, the head of state responded strongly to the complaints that were circulating on the internet.

He spoke about the sarcasm surrounding his leadership, especially the words Kasongo and Zakayo that have been used to refer to him.

“People on the internet don't really want us to say these things because they just want to continue saying that there is no work going on in Kenya, intrigue, ooh Kasongo ooh Zakayo.

“Your case is fine, it's not bad, let's continue with it and Zakayo's is also not bad because we are picking up to take Kenya forward and first Zakayo was visited by God, now that you are not Zakayo, how will you be visited by God? The important thing is to work together.” Ruto said.

Kasongo, derived from the classic song by Super Orchestra Mazembe, has recently become the president's new nickname on social media.

Zakayo is a reference to a biblical character and is used by Kenyans to express frustration at the high taxes levied by the Ruto government.

Recently, the leadership has been criticized due to various issues including corruption, dirty campaign promises, bad government policies, cases of kidnapping and people being executed.

Many memes and cartoon silhouettes have also been created to refer to the president.

In other news, Secretary General Raymond Omollo of the National Department of Internal Security and National Governance recently addressed the question of whether the person responsible for the silhouettes is wanted by the government.

Omollo expressed surprise at the creativity of the man dismissing any notions that the government would go after the man behind the silhouettes.

However, he saw it positively, questioning how the government could use such technology to great effect.
