DCI is looking for Francis Gaitho because of the statements he is pouring on the Internet: “He despises Government Officials”

• The detective unit revealed this information after announcing that they are looking for the social media influencer
• This follows Gaitho's arrest several months ago, where he was released despite facing charges of publishing fake news.

The Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has announced that it is looking for blogger Francis Gaitho in relation to several alleged crimes.

What crime does DCI associate Francis Gaitho with?

In a press release obtained by TUKO.co.kethe investigation unit announced that Gaitho has been charged with publishing false information, violating Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act.

The social media influencer is also alleged to have missed the court session on Wednesday, December 4, causing the Milimani Court to issue a warrant for his arrest.

“The suspect was charged with publishing false information contrary to Article 23 of the Law on Computer Misuse and Internet Offenses (Case No. CR E738/24).

In addition to the two charges, Gaitho is also wanted for allegedly sharing personal information of a senior government official and spreading false information about him.

“Furthermore, the suspect will face multiple counts of cyberbullying for a post in which he insulted senior government officials. The above files are pending investigation and advice by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions,” DCI it said more.

The DCI has asked citizens to contact them through their free phones or report Gaitho's whereabouts to the nearest police station.

Has Francis Gaitho been charged before?

This is not the first time that Gaitho has had problems with the DCI for publishing false information.

Gaitho was charged with willfully publishing false information on July 15, 2024, intending it to be taken or acted upon as true.

Gaitho was supposed to explain that the DCI had given false information about the main suspect in the Kware garbage murder.

The social media analyst is also alleged to have published information about the murder of Githurai and Rongai, along with the disappeared people.
