Residents of Mukuku village in Mbooni Mashariki area of Makueni county were stunned after a slightly burnt metal fell from the sky.
According to locals who shared pictures of the metal online, a loud crash followed as it fell. Others claimed a sound similar to thunder around 3pm on Monday, December 30.
In the photos that spread on social media, the villagers were caught surrounding the large round object, some holding it trying to figure out where it came from.
What fell from the sky in Makueni?
Many have assumed that it could be a chance thing, while others have called on the authorities to take action and determine what it is.

A mysterious balloon was discovered in Machakos farm
In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that the residents of Masinga sub-county in Machakos, were surprised after a large mysterious balloon fell from the sky.
The Director of the Weather Monitoring Department in Machakos County, Dominic Kyalo, said that the object was a weather balloon sent by his department.
Kyalo explained that the balloon was part of a regular atmospheric research mission to collect data on temperature and climate change in the area.
To clear the doubts, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation in Masinga responded to secure the area and retrieve the balloon for further inspection.
