Chepalungu Member of Parliament Victor Kipngetich addressed the allegations that he was slapped by Farouk Kibet, the President's assistant William Rutoduring an event in Bomet.
Did Farouk Kibet slap the MP?
In a statement posted on his social network on Sunday, December 29, Kipngetich denied the allegations of being slapped, calling the allegations being circulated false and fabricated.
“My attention has been drawn to the fake, malicious and fabricated letter circulating on social media, claiming that there was a dispute reported in Koiwa during President Ruto's event,” Kipngetich's statement said in part.

The MP for Chepalungu also distanced himself from the statement that was circulated to the media allegedly in response to allegations of being slapped.
He also explained that the document that has not been signed and handled properly that is spreading on the internet is a baseless attempt to damage his name, mentioning that it is a method of his competitors to mislead the public.
“These allegations are not only false but also calculated efforts by my competitors to undermine me and distract me from my public service. I strongly condemn the use of fake news to control public perception and create discord,” Kipngetich added.
The MP claimed that the spread of fake news was an attempt to associate him and his office with propaganda through baseless accusations.
He called the accusations a slander and a violation of the principles of justice and integrity.
Did Kibet receive politicians at his home?
The incident involving Kibet and the alleged slapping of Kipngetich comes a few weeks after former local politicians in his upper residence in Turbo constituency, Uasin Gishu county.
Leaders gathered at home in preparation for the Great Chepsaita Cross Country Run, which took place on Saturday, December 7.
The sports event, managed by Kibet, brought thousands of spectators on board to enjoy the spectacle of about 10,000 athletes drawn from all over East Africa.
The race aimed to raise money to help more than 1,000 underprivileged children in Chepsaita and surrounding areas.
