Ngunjiri is among the politicians who supported Gachagua when he was faced with the motion to remove him from power two months ago.

But now he says he decided to take the step to stand aside and reflect on the political situation in the country before deciding which side he will align himself with.

Speaking at a university graduation ceremony in Eldoret on Saturday, December 21, the former lawmaker appeared to soften his stance against the President William Ruto.

He even asked the country to allow the president to serve his term without being disturbed.

Indirectly indicating his disagreement with Gachagua's political statements about the unity of Mount Kenya, Ngunjiri said he is against regional politics and regionalism.

“I don't want these political wars, and that's why you've seen that I've been silent for a while now. These politics of the mountain and other places have no importance; they only benefit a few people. I want us to respect our leaders because they were put in power by God, and therefore it's not right to attack them ,” said Ngunjiri.
