Johnson Sakaja Shows Hope for Re-Election 2027

Will Johnson Sakaja win the 2027 election?

Speaking on television Citizen on Wednesday, December 18, Sakaja expressed confidence that he will be re-elected in the 2027 General Election.

Despite people speculating about the fate of 2027, the governor of UDA he hoped that many voters in the city have promised to re-elect him.

While showing confidence in winning the coveted seat, Sakaja said he has achieved much of what he promised the residents of Nairobi 2022, including the construction of stadiums across the county.

“Many say I will come back with fists and I have to work. The beauty of democracy is that people will choose that time. I wish I had come with my manifesto; I am ticking the boxes of what we promised,” Sakaja said.

What are the achievements of Johnson Sakaja?

Sakaja said that one of his achievements is to digitize revenue sources, which he said has improved the county's revenue.

“We digitalized all revenue collection methods. There is no financial policy, and we don't even have a financial office in the county anymore. The next step we will enter from January is 'identify yourself'. You will be able to verify County Government employees online,” he added.

The county leader also highlighted his success in the health sector, saying he had established a fully functioning intensive care unit (ICU) at the Mother Lucy Kibaki Hospital.

“Nairobi did not have an ICU center when I was Governor. Right now we have an intensive care unit and a full ICU at Mother Lucy Kibaki Hospital in Pumwani. We have the first public eye hospital Umoja,” the Nairobi governor said.

Tim Wanyonyi's 2027 governorship ambition

At the same time, Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi announced that he will run for Nairobi governorship in 2027.

The three-time MP for Westlands announced that his journey to oust Governor Johnson Sakaja has begun, adding that he was considering the record of support and development of his constituency.

Talking to TUKO.co.ke after launching the new paved Muiri and Crescent roads in Mountain View and Parklands, respectively, Wanyonyi, referring to Sakaja, said Nairobi is behind in development.
