Kayole, Nairobi: The video of an old woman crying and refusing to leave the top of her apartment she built with cash has hurt many.
Where is Nyamavilla?
The woman whose building was Nyamavilla in Kayole Street, Nairobi stood on the second floor of the building and refused to come down. People begged him to come down from the building but he absolutely refused.
The Citizen TV channel reported that dozens of families were left homeless after the early morning demolition of the piece of land due to a long-running land dispute dating back to 2002 between a real estate company and people allegedly living on the land illegally.
Friends of a man who died after allegedly being thrown acid by his wife make a statement: “It wasn't love”
“I'm not going down. Leave him alone William Ruto come, but I will not go down,” he swore to the woman.
While he was talking, a bulldozer hit a place near where he was standing and soon, the building was brought down. The incident left the residents very angry.
Member of the County Assembly (MCA) Joy Mwangi arrived at the place and insisted that the land belongs to Nairobi County.
“I have looked for the Disciplinary Officer of the Police Division (0CPD) to give him confirmation that they should not be demolished and he said that he does not take those things on WhatsApp,” claimed Mwangi.
Joy was later arrested and taken to the police station.
