Mugo, who had attended many weddings in his life, got tired of being a spectator and finally asked his community to help him plan a wedding for him and his beloved wife.
Community leader, Dennis Muthomi, told TUKO.co.ke that the response to the father of four's request was great, as people were ready to help him.
The Speaker of Tharaka Nithi County, John Mbabu, offered to pay KSh 600,000 for the wedding to make the couple who had lived together for 50 years happy.
Where did Mugo have his wedding?
The couple got married at St Andrew's Chuka Church and held their reception at Mwanga Chief's Camp.
It's clear that the elderly couple enjoyed their special day, judging by their wedding photos.
In the photos, Mugo was dressed in a clean navy blue suit, while his wife Margaret looked beautiful in a fitted Cinderella gown with a shawl.
The flower managers wore white dresses, and the bridesmaids wore beautiful pink dresses.
The two were carried in luxury cars, and at one point they stopped in their car and greeted the people of their community on their way to their reception ceremony.
