In that incident, four young girls drowned in a pond where they were taking water for different purposes, including washing clothes.
Police report on the death of 4 Tanzanian girls
Teenage girls, between the ages of 15 and 17, joined each other for laundry work, only to lose their precious lives.
The police commander confirmed the incident while sharing reports of the death with pain on the school mates of the deceased.
“We were able to find the bodies of four girls who had come out of the body of water. For luck bad, they were all dead. From the report, we gathered that all the girls had come here to take water for different uses, including washing clothes and household use.
It was seen by accident when they were fetching water, one of them slipped and collapsed in the water. In the process, the girls tried to save themselves who are drowning. Unfortunately, they also drowned trying to save each other,” he said.

The resident said he tried to save the hopeless girls fighting for their lives in the water body.
His attempt to think was fruitless as he was alone trying to save many girls.
Another resident urged the government to check the safety of such bodies as the residents were not safe.
“There are several holes when the builders are looking for building materials. These holes must be closed because they have become obstacles for our society. They are endangering the lives and safety of our children. We do not have peace because we do not know how to do it for our children. They can join their colleagues in several activities around the areas these and end up injured or dead,” he said.

Separately, on Sunday, October 6, an eighth grade student in Murang'a County drowned in a pot of water in Mbogoini village.
Tuko.co.ke learned that a primary school student was trying to catch a fish when he slipped and drowned.
Murang'a woman representative Betty Maina hired private individuals who helped to find the boy's body.
