Nakuru Man Dies After His Wife Allegedly Assaulted Him With Acid: “I'm Dying”

A 52-year-old man from Nakuru has died from serious injuries he sustained after his wife allegedly attacked him with acid at his home.

Elijah Matoke was allegedly doused with acid while in bed and rushed to the hospital where he died while receiving treatment.

Speaking to Inooro TV, the neighbor explained in detail the events after Matoke was attacked, saying he heard him screaming while panting in pain, saying he was about to die.

“We heard shouts of 'woah, I'm dying, they've finished me', we came here and found him with burns and looking pink, I panicked and asked his children what happened to their father,” Lilian Magomera said.

The man's children told him that they did not know who attacked him with acid.

His daughter Claris Matoke said in pain that her father died a painful death, adding that he suffered serious injuries during the incident.

“When I was in the hospital, he called me and said: “My daughter, take my hand and take me home.” I did not know which house he was talking about because those were his last words,” he said as the sound of his cries echoed.

Elijah Matoke's wife is implicated

Police officers in Kaptembwa, Nakuru, have confirmed the incident, saying that the man's wife and son are the main suspects in the attack.

“They are in custody, and when we finish the investigation, we will bring them to court for the crime of murder,” Anderson Njagi, Nakuru West police commander said.

The information shows that the suspect was married to the deceased as his second wife for 16 years. They had arguments that escalated into violent attacks.

It is said that the couple had a troubled marriage.

Residents have urged couples to resolve domestic disputes peacefully instead of using physical force.

In another report, the police in Nakuru county also launched an investigation after a man allegedly killed his wife following a domestic dispute.

The man was arrested after allegedly attacking and killing his wife in August this year.

Witnesses said that the man and the deceased woman had been living together for three years but with frequent disagreements.
