The incident happened one day after he officially took over the role of head of the institution.

Was Professor Kipkirui Mutai injured in the accident?

According to Lemiso Media, Professor Mutai is safe and did not suffer serious injuries in the incident.

However, his bodyguard, identified as Kemboi, sustained minor injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.

Professor Mutai accepted his appointment on December 5 for a period of five years.

The accident occurred under unclear circumstances, but the police are investigating the cause of the incident.

Professor Mutai, who recently took over the leadership of Bomet University, is reported to be in good health after the incident.

Prior to this new role, the academic was the former Vice Chancellor (Planning, Research, and Innovation) at Masinde Muliro University.

He is expected to provide research, academic, and administrative leadership in the institution.

His appointment came at a time when Bomet University strives to be an institution that promotes research excellence in science, technology, and innovation.

After inauguration, the university is expected to complete and expand its infrastructure, promote research, and work on the university charter.
