Pastor Kanyari Attends Court Session While His Brother Gives Evidence In Their Sister's Case

What did Victor Kanyari's brother say?

The preacher and his family attended the court session where John Matara was in the dock.

Reports suggest that Matara and Wahu met through an online dating platform and later met on Airbnb where things took a tragic turn.

Wahu was found with multiple stab wounds to his thighs.

Matara was arrested at Mbagathi Hospital, where he had gone to be treated for the injuries he claimed to have sustained during the incident, but later denied the murder charges.

A video of the court hearing showed Matara smartly dressed in a suit.

Julius Njoroge, Kanyari's brother, stood in the dock to testify.

Njoroge explained how he identified Wahu's body at the City Mortuary.

He said that on January 4, 2024, at ten o'clock in the afternoon, he received information that his sister had been killed.

Njoroge said his sister's body had injuries on one thigh and neck.

The prosecution planned to present 14 witnesses, and the case was scheduled to be heard on March 11, 2025.

Kanyari appeared sad in court while trying to hold back tears.

The preacher left the court in anger, describing the brutal murder of his sister.

“How can you cut another person? You know you were killing someone. You are cutting the neck of your fellow human being. You are cutting someone and you know you were killing,” he said.

In February, the accused murderer pleaded not guilty and asked for bail.

However, the prosecutor said that Matara had no place to live because his house contract was there Kasarani it stopped after he was arrested.

He also claimed that the accused had several cases written in various centers involving him in criminal activities.
