Chief economic adviser at the White House Moses Kuria He has said that the Mount Kenya region needs a strong political voice.
He emphasized that this can be achieved if all political parties in the area join the Jubilee Party led by Uhuru Kenyatta.
What did Kuria say about the Jubilee Party?
In a statement released on Tuesday, November 10, Kuria hinted at plans to join the Uhuru Jubilee Party.
He said it was a mistake for Mount Kenya to separate from the Uhuru party when it formed an alliance with ODM Raila Odinga and other parties to create a Declaration.
“However, there is still time. Now we will bring all the political parties with roots in this area under the Jubilee Party. We did that in 2016 when we broke up all the parties to form the Jubilee Party,” part of the statement said.
He emphasized that Jubilee is the best way for the Mt Kenya region under the leadership of Uhuru.
In addition, he promised that he and his Labor Party will fully commit to the mission.
“The Labor Party and I will give all our strength to achieve that goal,” said Kuria.
What did Kuria say about the expected changes in the Council of Ministers?
Kuria's revelation comes one day after Uhuru met the President William Ruto discuss national issues.
The sudden meeting between the two leaders on Monday, December 9, created mixed feelings among Kenyans, with some suggesting that Uhuru agreed to recommend his own people for Cabinet positions.
Via X, Kuria posted a cryptic message directly linked to the meeting between Ruto and Uhuru.
Without giving further details, the former Minister of Commerce hinted at a major announcement scheduled for 10pm on Tuesday, December 10.
In his post, Kuria urged Kenyans to be ready with pens and notebooks, hinting that some of them might need popcorn.
Kuria's message sparked rumors that Ruto was preparing to announce more changes in his government.
