Anger has spread in Kathita village, Embu county following the death of an 80-year-old woman.

A woman identified as Jacinta Wambugi died when she was being helped by local residents who broke the door of her house to check on her.

It is said that Wambugi was not seen for several days, a situation that caused concern among his neighbors who decided to come to his house.

The assistant chief of Kathita, Jackson Kamau, said he accompanied the residents of the area to visit the ajuza's house after receiving information that he had not gone to get food since Friday, December 6.

“The woman has been receiving help from neighbors and philanthropists. Sometimes, I also send money for her use through another woman named Doreen. I was informed that she had not eaten the food we buy since last Friday, so we decided to visit her home,” said the chief in a KBC report.

How did Jacinta Wambugi of Embu die?

When they got to his house, they broke down the door and found him lying on the floor near the door with serious injuries on his back.

“We found him on the floor near his door. I think he was trying to get out but he couldn't. He had serious injuries on his back. He died when we helped him sit on a chair,” he explained.

Was the lady of Embu abandoned by her children?

According to reports, the deceased was a businessman in Embu but retired after suffering health problems several years ago.

For that reason, he depended entirely on help from his benefactors and good neighbors.

It is said that he lived alone after cutting ties with his four children, including three daughters and one son, who live and work in different parts of the country.

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that a 42-year-old woman was found dead in his rented house in Musanda village, Lurambi constituency, Kakamega.

Evelyne's neighbors claimed they were informed about the incident through a message allegedly sent to them by the suspect of the murder.

Residents shocked by the incident called for an immediate investigation and justice for the deceased and his family.
