A leading company in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Fohow, has celebrated its first year in Kenya with a grand event held at County Hall, Nairobi.
The Vice President of Fohow, Jiao Peng, said Kenya is the center of innovation in health and well-being in the East African region. “Kenya has great potential for growth. We are looking at it as an area to establish our first factory in East Africa, which will further strengthen our presence and provide more opportunities for local communities,” he said.
At the event, partners who excelled in their work were rewarded with various gifts.
Speaking during the celebration, Peter Liu, Africa Manager of Fohow Group, emphasized Kenya's great potential in the traditional medicine sector, but identified the challenges hindering its development.
“Kenya is a country with great potential when it comes to the use of traditional medicine and herbs in Africa. However, they still lack the skills needed to strengthen this sector. With the government giving tax exemptions to stakeholders in this sector, much needs to be done, including cooperation between of Kenya and China,” said Liu.
Christine Wahu, Director of Fohow Kenya, spoke about the success of the organization. “Our theme for this year, 'The Year of Gratitude,' recognizes the great changes we have seen, both health-wise and financially. Through Fohow International Business School, we have educated people to better understand their bodies and prevent disease, while giving them the skills to improve their lives on a scale big,” he said. Many marketers have been able to become financially independent and achieve remarkable growth.
Mr. Liu explained two main benefits offered by the company. “Our products are natural, inexpensive, and certified by the Medicines and Poisons Board. They provide the best way to maintain health while also being a platform for our members to earn income by distributing them,” he said. He also noted plans to collaborate with local doctors of Kenya, to explore the potential of local medicinal plants in international markets, especially through the One Belt and One Road initiative.
Fohow's approach incorporates the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and internet marketing, empowering people to achieve health and financial well-being. Over the past year, the company has reached out to villages, teaching residents about the benefits of TCM while helping them set up sustainable businesses. This grassroots strategy has improved health outcomes and provided economic opportunities for many.
Lazarus Oluoch, Fohow's training facilitator, elaborated on the company's commitment to overall health. “Our products are designed to address health challenges from their roots. They go through extensive testing to ensure their safety and effectiveness, combining theoretical knowledge with practical results,” he explained. This emphasis on prevention rather than cure is consistent with the principles of TCM.
Founded in 1995, Fohow has built a reputation as a global brand in natural health products, offering supplements that boost immunity, improve digestive health, and overall well-being. Celebrating its first year in Kenya, the company continues to inspire thousands through its innovative approaches to health and wealth creation, emerging as a leader in integrating traditional knowledge with modern business strategies.
