“I went to the scene where we found the door open. When we entered the room, we found the bodies of the two. It looked like they were sleeping without clothes. They didn't recognize themselves and it looked like they were already dead. I called the police who arrived immediately” said Jumanne Kazimoto, chairman of the Majengo area.

He named the deceased as Peter Masali, a retired soldier, and Mery Nassoro.

A friend of Mery Nassoro's family speaks out

A friend of the deceased woman's family revealed that she married her husband this year.

“After hearing what happened to the woman, I called her husband who told me that the last time they spoke was when he asked her for a fare of KSh 500. I was one of the organizers of the wedding,” he said.

The police have confirmed the incident, saying the soldier and a married woman went to the bedroom the night before their death.

“The room they found was also used as a stoo and a food store. There were no windows. The woman was an employee of the store,” a police officer said.
