- Morara Kebaso struggled to silence a critic who claimed he was unfit, while trying to unseat President William Ruto in 2017
- The activist and his critic were appearing on the K24 television morning show as panelists on Friday, December 6
- He dismissed the view of the panelists, former MCA; Morara said he had time to contact the former ward representative
Nairobi – A short drama episode was witnessed in the television studios of K24 on Friday, December 6, when presidential candidate Morara Kebaso drank and argued with the former ward representative.
Morara was among those who participated in the morning session where important issues were discussed.
Why did Morara take on a fellow TV panellist?
He was annoyed by his fellow panellist, Ken Ondiek, a former member of the Homa Bay County Assembly, who suggested that he (Morara) was not doing proper research on pending government projects.
Ondiek's argument was referring to Morara's reason for exposing stalled projects, poor work and embezzlement of funds allocated for the projects across the country.
MCA the former warned Kenyans against considering Morara running for the presidency as he uses government projects as his political power and capital.
Furthermore, Ondiek told the activist that he had no idea about electoral politics and had never run for office.
“Can you compete and be elected or rejected anywhere? That's when you will know what it means to run and lose. You can't even run for the position of MCA,” Ondiek was fired.
Furious, Morara seemed to despise the MCA seat as the one beneath him.
He said he could not involve the former MCA, but was eyeing the highest office in the country.
“I'm running for president. I can't argue with a former MCA. This is a shame. I shouldn't have time to argue with a former MCA,” he avenged Morara.
Morara wants to remove the power from the President William Ruto in 2027 for the Sindano Party ticket.
This will not be the first time that Morara has clashed with someone on TV.
Fierce debate between Morara-Hussein Mohamed via Citizen TV
A few months back, Kenyans attended a large demonstration session that pitted him against the speaker of the White House, Hussein Mohamed.
Morara, on the evening of Wednesday, August 28, appeared on the JKL program of Citizen TV to explain his new reason for holding the government accountable for the stalled projects.
During the interview, the furniture businessman revealed that the government and its prominent officials approached him, offering him a good job in the government, perhaps to silence him in his civil venture.
At one point, Morara claimed that the president once called him alone, and offered him government posts.
How Hussein Mohamed answered Morara on air
The comments caught the attention of the palace spokesman, who immediately called to dispute the claims.
While acknowledging Morara's civic project, and its importance to democracy, Hussein blamed the activist for what he said was lying.
According to him, the president never called Morara, so he pressed him to confirm that he actually had a phone conversation with the president.
Morara wanted to free himself from Hussein's controversy but was still pressured to confirm that the president had called him.
Appearing to play it safe this time, he insisted on discussing important issues while finding time to release the phone records from his internet service provider.
At the same time, the government spokesman Isaac Mwaura denied being a witness to the president's phone conversation with Morara, as the president suggested in a tweet.
Mwaura also denied having a meeting arranged with the activist to discuss his possibility of moving to the government as he claimed earlier.
