- The Jubilee wing, led by MP-elect Sabina Chege, now wants Kenyans to be patient and give the government a chance to implement its campaign promises
- They said that progress can only be achieved by leaders from all sides of the political divide and the people supporting President William Ruto
- Their attitude came days after the president denounced the constant opposition from Kenyans, who he suggested were saboteurs of the economy and enemies of development.
Nairobi – The Jubilee Party under the leadership of an elected member of parliament Sabina Chege has urged Kenyans to give time to the elected leaders to carry out their duties.
Speaking after meeting the senior leaders of the former ruling party, Chege said progress will only be achieved if there is cooperation between the people and their leaders.
“We have done a lot of politics and a lot of criticism this year, which is right, but the time has come to focus on projects that can help our citizens,” said Chege.
Why Mt Kenya should support Ruto
He called on the people of Mount Kenya to support the President's government William Ruto and allow him to complete projects that have not been implemented in the area.
His call, however, was against the reality in the region, where opposition to the government has been growing for some time.
Promises that have not been implemented in the campaign and the dismissal of the former vice president Rigathi Gachagua recently it is one of the reasons why Ruto seems to be rejected by the residents of the area.
Despite the opposition, Sabina insisted that voters must support the government and local leaders for development.
“I want to ask Kenyans to give the leaders elected by the current government a chance to continue working,” he added.
What is the advice of the Jubilee youth to Kenyans?
The views of the elected member of parliament were supported by the Jubilee Party's National Youth Adviser, Mundalo, who, while speaking to TUKO.co.keemphasized that unity and peaceful coexistence are important tools for development.
“I ask the youth of this great nation to respect and support their leaders even as they prepare to take leadership positions in the near future, I am sure they will need to be respected when that time comes,” said Mundalo.
Mundalo also asked critics of the government to be fair and appreciate the good things that have been achieved.
“We have the right to criticize, but we should also be fair and appreciate where the government has done well. We cannot always be negative without even offering an alternative solution,” he said.
The youth chairman also asked the media to be balanced in writing news, especially where the government is involved.
Veteran politician Naomi Shaban also urged Kenyans to embrace peace and unity, especially during this festive season when many elected officials will be on vacation.
