Kenyans Comment on the Government Announcement of BodaBoda Vacancies in Dubai

Minister of Labor Alfred Mutua has announced a major plan by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) company that wants to hire 600 bodaboda drivers from Kenya.

The program offers competitive income and benefits to successful candidates, with employment interviews scheduled to take place between December 9 and 14, 2024.

Mutua said that job seekers must be ready to travel to Dubai before the end of the year.

However, some Kenyans have expressed a different opinion due to the high pre-arrival costs amounting to around KSh 167,900.

Samuel Mwangi said: “Such work by GOK will require KRA approval, EACC approval, approval of HELBwith CRB approval. Ken Gitonga said: “This is a failure of unimaginable proportions. The entire Minister of Labor who runs an overseas recruitment agency. Please read your ministry's mandate and responsibilities.
