Nairobi – Senator Edwin Sifuna He has warned leaders in ODM about the consequences they may face for disrespecting Kenyans.
In an interview with Citizen Radio on Wednesday, December 4, the MP urged Kenyans not to allow any leader to intimidate them.
The Secretary General of ODM emphasized that Kenyans regained their power when youths stormed the parliament and forced the parliamentarians to flee.
Sifuna asked Kenyans to continue to hold the leader accountable, adding that those who are arrogant against the people will lose their seats.
He agreed that the Orange party may have its own internal issues, explaining that there must be those who go against the ideas of the party.
“I want to tell Kenyans not to be intimidated by anyone. You have already taken power back from the leaders; you know the displacement happened when the youth invaded the parliament. The events of this year have opened the eyes of many people, they have awakened the people's energy.
These days, when you are a leader, when you speak, you must know that you are speaking to the people with respect, and when the time comes, most of these leaders who are proud of the people will return home,” said the member of parliament.
In an investigation that seems to dig Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, Sifuna said it is good that he fulfilled his words.
“But it's good, I heard someone say that their mouth is theirs, their politics are theirs. That's right. So, let's understand that the environment we work in,” he added.
How should MPs be evaluated?
The Member of Parliament continued to say that Kenyans are educated and have been following events in the National Assembly.

“As a Kenyan, this year has been very difficult. We have witnessed events that we have never seen before. But what gives me hope, as I said, is that Kenyans have woken up politically. Civically, people have become engaged. Today, all bills are read when leaders bring bills to parliament, some of them are stupid, I want Let me assure you that most of us in parliament will continue to stand up and say that these bills do not benefit the people and do not violate the constitution, and we will oppose them.” Sifuna said.
Sifuna said that the leaders should be judged according to the bills they brought before the August Parliament, highlighting their contributions.
“And the way we vote in parliament, there is a record, and everyone will be judged by how they performed their duties,” he said.
