Grief While Nakuru Woman Who Disappeared At Home 12 Years Ago Returns In Coffin

A family in Nakuru county is mourning the death of their relative who disappeared 12 years ago.

Lydia Wanjiku went missing in 2012, and efforts to find her home were unsuccessful.

Donor Mercy Nungari, who has been helping the family in their efforts to reunite, told TUKO.co.ke that the girl left home against her parents' wishes.

“Lydia Wanjiku disappeared from home in 2012. She left home after completing the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) to be employed as a domestic helper against her parents' wishes,” he said.

Nungari said the girl had a habit of disappearing and changing her name every time, but the family never gave up on looking for her.

He revealed that his mother found him in 2015 and brought him home, but he disappeared again.

“The mother did not give up in the search, and in 2015, she looked for him in Nyeri, where he was employed as a domestic helper. She brought him back home, but Wanjiku left again to an unknown place,” he explained.

Lydia Wanjiku marries a man from Kiambu

While away from home, she met a man from Kikuyu, Kiambu county, whom she married, and they had three children.

When the husband asked about her house and her parents, she became angry and angry with him, threatening to leave.

“She married a man from Kikuyu and together they have three children. Whenever her husband and family asked to know where she came from and her home, she would get angry and throw a riot and even disappear for a while, so they left her,” he said.

How did the missing woman in Nakuru die?

Nungari explained that the young woman has been complaining of headache and stomach ache for about two weeks.

Husband works away from home and only visits on weekends. Wanjiku died recently at night. At first, his three sons thought he was sleeping because he was always inside.

“The children were in another room, but he was sleeping in bed with his younger brother who tried to breastfeed, thinking his mother was just sleeping but he couldn't get milk,” he narrated.

It wasn't until one of the relatives realized that he hadn't seen any of them outside that he went to check on the family.

For luck bad, he found the young woman dead in her bed and informed the rest of the family.

“They didn't want to bury him without the family knowing, so they reached out to me and my team, and we were able to find his parents through the help of our Facebook followers,” he added.

Wanjiku will be buried in Kikikuyu on Wednesday, December 4.

Evangelist Nungari has advised Kenyans to always remember at home regardless of the mistakes of family members.

He noted that it was a sad situation to give death notices to a family that has been searching for their son for many years.

“If your family wronged you in any way, it's good to go back to your roots for your future generations. At least we found the family though in a sad way, but they know their daughter is no more,” he said.
