A car dealer was arrested on suspicion of deceiving a customer and defrauding him of millions of shillings for allegedly delivering luxury cars.

Kairo, a popular car dealer and social media personality, was arrested on Tuesday, December 3.

According to the Nation, Kasarani Sub-County Criminal Investigation Officer, Justus Ombati, claimed that the businessman lied to a customer and defrauded him of KSh 26 million, then he became difficult to find, failing to either return the money or deliver the relevant vehicles.

“Yes, he is here. We arrested him today after he received millions from the buyer and then he became difficult to find to return the money or deliver the cars. There are more complaints that have been filed, and we have started a file against him,” Ombati confirmed.

Kairo was arrested along with three of his employees, who are also being investigated.

Nairobi Regional Criminal Investigation Officer, Benson Kasyoki, noted that his team is questioning Kairo about other similar complaints lodged by other customers.

How did Kairo defend himself following his arrest?

In the midst of this controversy, Kairo used his X account to respond to the situation.

The young businessman downplayed his arrest, saying it was a normal challenge in the business world.

He stressed that anyone who does business must face legal proceedings for any reason, noting that he is right.

“These challenges you see me going through are very common in business, especially when the company is growing. Every great entrepreneur, at one time, has to face a lawsuit or financial problems, especially when God is taking him to higher levels. For those who reach out to me, I am 100% right, and I will win,” he wrote.
