Josephine Mutinda painfully remembered the double misfortune that shaped her life and destiny, and affected her future life.
In which hospital did Josephine give birth?
The woman, who uses a wheelchair, claimed that she lost her first child and uterus to a blow during surgery.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Josephine recounted the sad incident while blaming the hospital for one of those tragedies.
“I was in college. Very young and pregnant. When I was eight months pregnant, I experienced complications in my pregnancy. When I was taken to Machakos Level 5 Hospital, the only way to deliver was through surgery.
“The intern was given the authority to operate on me. The baby had rolled around the umbilical cord, which was a problem, so I needed to be operated on,” he demanded.
Why did Josephine's child die after birth?
She was operated on, and the child, despite being transferred, died due to lack of oxygen.
Josephine was losing a lot of blood, and when they tried to sew her up, the womb could not be closed.
“This was the first time I faced that situation, my late uncle who was a doctor but was not in the same hospital, told the doctors to do everything they could to save me. because things had become worse.
“My uncle's words, 'Do everything', seemed to be taken literally as permission to do anything as the doctors removed my womb. They took my uncle's word as consent to remove my womb in their efforts to save me,” he said. .
Can Josephine have menstruation without a uterus?
Josephine, born in Makueni, said no family member was informed about the removal of the uterus or asked for permission.
He accused the hospital of not clearing things with his family about the procedure, which made him feel “an imperfect woman”.
“I can't bear children anymore; I can't menstruate. If the local worker hadn't operated on me, things would have been different. It hurts me so much that I'm sterile because of carelessness,” he cried.
